Dear Parents,
Welcome to first grade!! My name is Brittney Urban and it is my great pleasure to be your child’s teacher for the upcoming school year at Multicultural Academy! It has been most anticipated and now the time has finally come. I am eager to get to know you and your child individually and as a family. These first years of your child’s education are essential building blocks toward their future endeavors and I am honored to be a part of it!
Please allow me to introduce myself professionally and personally. I am a graduate of Oakland University earning a BA in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts. I previously taught preschool at Franklin Academy for the past two and a half years. In addition to teaching, I have worked with children for the past six years leading enrichment classes, leading and working as a camp counselor, and assisting/leading different junior programming groups. I am the second oldest of a family of six and my love for children and education has steamed from this. This past year I managed to maintain five different jobs, but I could not be more excited to bring that number down to at least two. Just a few of my interests and hobbies include volleyball, softball, coffee, shopping, butterflies, beach/lake, and just enjoying life for what it is.
First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year working with your child. I will strive each day to make learning a fun and enriching process for your child. However, I need your help in making this year as successful as it can be! I believe that you and I are a team working together to help your child develop emotionally and academically. You are the most important person in your child’s life as well as a teacher. I know if we work together and communicate, your child will have a very successful year! Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have during the year. My email is [email protected] and/or call the school at (734) 677-0732.
Sincerely,
Brittney Urban
